Gay guide to Kyiv 2016
Kyiv is a city where all LGBT people of Ukraine can have fun. It can fascinate a sophisticated Kyivlyanyn or adventurous traveller. If you are wondering where and how to spend your time – we can orient you on relevant gay spots of the capital.
The biggest infrastructure for LGBT people has naturally appeared to be most developed in the capital. You can more or less freely manifest your sexual identity without fear of homophobia, attend places "for like-minded people" and may even find your personal happiness.
Gays have got socialized in intolerant society long ago, so they visit any of the existing institutions of the city. Previously, the only way to get acquainted was advertisements in newspapers or the so-called "baldness". "Baldness" was called places in the city, mostly in its central part (e.g., parks, gardens, sidewalks and recreation areas) where representatives of LGBT community tend to spend their free time. With the development of club life and online communications, these ways of dating are becoming less popular.
In Kiev, traditionally, since the late 90's, gay clubs use to appear and disappear from time to time, and at the moment there are one popular option:
LIFT (st. Chervonoarmeiskaia 72) is a new gay club in Kyiv. Visitors can spend their time practicing karaoke, visiting darkroom or watching transvestite show. Every Friday and Saturday Grand show is held on the big stage, and show program – in Russian (small) room daily. Karaoke will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

LGBT organizations and LGBT free space
"Fulcrum" - charitable organization that identifies the following areas of work: MSM Health and HIV / AIDS prevention, work with business (implementation of the policy of equality and participation in the Corporate Equality Index), LGBT rights advocacy and public information about LGBT rights.
Parents' initiative "Tergo" - commonwealth of parents, families and friends of lesbian, gay, transgender - a national movement focused on family values. Parents Organization meets one or more times a month.
Gay Alliance Ukraine - NGO that works in the area of LGBT rights advocacy, mobilization LGBT, psychological assistance (hotline).
Insight - NGO that focuses on protecting the rights of transgenders and lesbians, during the events in Eastern Ukraine opened the Shelter for displaced LGBT persons.
Queer Home Kyiv - is a free space for communication, meetings, personal and creative development. Here tolerant welcome all people who do not share others on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation.
HIV testing and consultation

Since none of the official restaurant-type institutions has the status “gay friendly”, the list given below was compiled by mostly LGBT reviewers.
Volkonskiy Keizer (Passage) (Khreschatyk Str / Zankovetska, 15/4) is an entertainment network "Volkonskiy" produces and sells delicious and environmentally friendly pastries made by the unique French technology based on natural non-yeast liquid sour dough.
