International Day of Transgender People


We would like to remind you that November 20 is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, the day to memorialize those who have been killed as a result of transphobia. HPLGBT colleagues have prepared a series of posters for your attention that picture famous transgender people that were strong enough to overcome prejudice and stigma for the love of the art and creativity they share with the world. While it is important to bring this positive message, we must not forget that fear and violence towards transgender people remains today’s reality: they are been tortured, beat up, humiliated and murdered for being themselves. Transgender people become victims of hate crimes more often than other minorities. We believe in every individual’s right to be him/herself. Please, help us spread this simple but crucial truth.
