The Ukrainian side has rejected UN recommendations on the protection of LGBT rights and issues of selective justice.
According to the BBC Ukraine, our diplomats took 115 of the 145 countries participating in the UN recommendations on how to improve the human rights situation in Ukraine. Among the 27 pending, including those related to LGBT rights, quotas for women, and the ratification of international treaties.
Recommendations of Norway, Sweden and Australia, to protect the rights of homosexuals, and freedom of expression related to gender identity and sexual orientation, were rejected in full.
According to the Government Plenipotentiary of Ukraine on the European Court of Human Rights, Nazarov Kulchitsky, Ukraine does not make sense to allocate discrimination against LGBT people as a separate issue, and should develop a comprehensive approach prevents all its forms.
This selectivity in human rights issues, has not gone unnoticed Ukrainian human rights organizations. According to them this is evidence of the dominance of xenophobic attitudes among officials and sympathy for ultrapravoradikalnoy rhetoric.
